Hiking in Merano and environs

A journey on foot

Merano is where North and South meet. Take your time to hike through the landscape and discover the diversity of its beautiful nature. In the valleys you will find marvellous mediterranean vegetation, and also alongside the old watercourses and hiking paths that lead up to some of the highest mountain peaks in the Alps. The high mountain trail "Meraner Höhenweg" , which leads around the Texel Group Nature Park is a pleasure for walking and also has some wonderful views. Old style Alpine huts, where you can enjoy fine hearty dishes, await you, and cableways will bring you back down to the valley again.

Man’s best friend is generally permitted on all hiking tours, but on most of the available trails dogs should be kept on leads, in regard to the wide variety of wildlife found in the Alps.
