Cultural life in Merano and Environs has become both diverse and innovative in the past few years. The rich and varied schedule of events corresponds to the unique and eventful history of the region, and much has been accomplished recently. Many traces of historic happenings, scenes and events can be found in various buildings and public squares, many of which have been preserved and are thus still alive in terms of their traditional roles and within current trends and discussions, while also remaining open to new interpretations.
