Where culture emerges from nature
The wonders are there to behold. They are part of our landscape where culture and nature are side by side. In front of the spectacular Alpine panorama you can enjoy the open-air mountain cinema. And, in comparison to the 3,000 year old larches, the St.Prokulus Church of Naturns seems exceedingly young. Inside the church one can find the oldest frescoes in the German speaking countries, dating from the 8th century.
A crazy garden
A maze is an experience in itself – given that is seems in some sense to reflect the structures of our lives. In the maze of Kränzel – in Tscherms – nature, art, and wine coincide in a very creative way, at the same time leaving enough room for interpretation.
Saint Proculus
The church of St. Proculus lies at the entrance of the village of Naturns and is located in midst of orchards. It was constructed in the first half of the 7th century as a Germanic wooden church, and ist interior shows the oldest fresco in the entire German language area, pre-Carolingian fresco, dating from the 7th/8th century.
