In the village of Tscherms nearby Merano you will find the labyrinth garden of the Kränzel mansion. Visitors may choose their own „Ariadne thread“: fun, art and wine are only three of the many options to explore.
Families with children who simply wish to spend an entertaining day will enjoy themselves just as much as lovers of good taste. And they can choose between art and culture. The owner, Count Pfeil, offers homemade wine for tasting in his vineyard. These wines win people over by their individuality and are served in a pleasant setting: The wine bar is located in a historic mill whose cosy interior captures the special South Tyrolean atmosphere. The mansion of Kränzel exhibits a collection of local and international art. Exhibitions change frequently, they are conceived not only for experts but the chance visitor will also find the works engaging. In the maze, it is also possible to discover one’s own artistic talents.

In fact, the maze offers an opportunity for people to experience their own thoughts and feelings, all within the structure of the maze, a complete artwork which constantly changes and improves. Thus, visitors of any age will never wander on well-trodden paths – both in the literal as well as in the metaphoric sense. According to your taste, you can create the experiences you wish to make and may take home a very personal souvenir of your holiday in South Tyrol.
This innovative concept, realised with visitors from various backgrounds in mind, was awarded the SMG Marketing-Award in 2006.
