Poeple say that Lana is an unusually lively community. But „it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing“, and the LanaLive 08 Jazz Festival is just the thing. For more than a week Lana becomes the Jazz capital of South Tyrol. The artists and venues have been chosen with care to ensure a rich and varied programme. From May 18th to May 30th 2008 the music will swing in shady guesthouse gardens, under blossoming trees and at the open-air concert at the community square.

LanaLive, formerly LanaJazz, offers a wide range of diverse musical events: from swing and blues to Dixie, Latin and brass band music, but it also offers literature and rock music. The highlight of the renowned festival is, as always, the stirring sound of the famous big bands with great musicians such as Max Greger, Hugo Strasser, Bill Bailey, Rob Stoneback, Klaus Doldinger, Barbara Dennerlein and many more.

A new addition to the festival is the "LanaLive Fest" in the historical centre of town called Gries. Within this fair hundreds of musicians will give open air concerts and throughout the Gries there will be a wide range of open air facilities, delicacies, drinks and fun.

Another new highlight is the "LanaLive Rock Night". Four excellent bands will performe in front of the unique setting of the 800 years old Leonbrug castle.

The rich and manifold range of artists, musicians and bands that will play in such a dramatic landscape, with it’s castles, gardens and mountains, guarantee that LanaLive is one of the finest jazz festivals, and has something for everyone.
Music is movement and movement is life, and as they say „ there is life in Lana“. So, come and have fun at LanaLive 08.
