To discover diversity in history
The museums of Merano and its surroundings invite you to journey through the history of the region. It is up to the visitor to discover the aspects he wishes to explore: One can visit the stone age in the Archeoparc of Schnals Valley, or the Napoleonic era in the Andreas Hofer Museum of Passeier Valley. There is the history of tourism in the so called Touriseum, or the mountain worlds in the Mountain Museum of the famous alpinist Reinhold Messner. The choice of eras and topics that can be visited is broad and diverse.
Contemporary Art in Merano
The art gallery Merano Arte (Kunst Meran) is located in the historical centre of Merano, and in fact one of the gallery’s aims consists in bringing contemporary art to the heart of the city and make it easier accessible to the public. Visitors will see great contemporary art shows – and may enjoy the nearby caffé Kunsthaus.
