Merano arte

The new art space in the historic center of Merano has been created as an international hub for contemporary art featuring forms of artistic expression. It is therefore intended as a platform for fine arts, photography, architecture, music, literature, new media and communications technology. The events and exhibitions are of high standard and are designed to make art accessible to the broader public and also to promote local artists in an international context. The larger objective is to achieve cross-border cooperation with similar institutions, both at home and abroad.
Open year round, Merano arte presents rotating contemporary art shows in an exhibition space of 500 square meters over three floors. Merano arte is a fantastic example of the successful renovation and adaptation of an historic building as a contemporary art gallery, as realized by local architects Höller & Klotzner.

Atelier

The huge studio on the third floor of the gallery is designated for the invitation of international artists to come to Merano, in order to live here and work here as "artists in residence" for a term and thus to further develop their own creative work in Merano and in collaboration with Merano arte as an institution.

Shop

In the gallery shop, you will find books on art, exclusive accessories, innovative design elements, artisan objects, and unique limited-issue works by many different artists.

Caffé Kunsthaus

The Caffè Kunsthaus coffee bar is a popular and lively gathering place in the city. A young team delight you with light food for lunch and dinner. Live band performances of and dj-appearences complete the program.

Art Merano is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Mondays.
