On 1 September 2012, the next edition of Stelviobike 2012 will take place – the cycling day held at the Stelvio Pass! On this day cyclists are invited to come to the Stelvio National Park, which is known to enthusiasts all over Europe as the main stage of the Giro d’Italia.

Once a year, this beautiful and sloping steep panoramic pass-road, leading from the village Trafoi (1.500 m) along the Stelvio Pass at an altitude of 2,757 m and containing 48 stunning sharp bends en route, is closed for all motorized traffic and opened instead to hundreds of cyclists to follow in the traces of the Giro d’Italia.

Data
The Stelvio Pass Road will be closed between the village of Trafoi and the pass. The section between the Stelvio Pass and the Umbrail Pass (CH) and leading down to Santa Maria (CH) will be closed to all motorized traffic until 4 pm.

Breakfast, food and drinks will be provided in the village of Prad (the starting point of the event) as well as along the route and at Franzenshöhe.
