Hiking in Merano and Environs

The Texel Group Nature Park (Parco Naturale Gruppo di Tessa) in Merano and Environs is the largest natural park in South Tyrol. With a series of trails, sweeping views and Alpine excursions, the Texel Group Nature Park, located on the southern side of the Alps, is an ideal destination for hikers.

Merano High Mountain Trail "Meraner Höhenweg" that runs through the Texel Group Nature Park is a pleasure to walk and has some wonderful views. Visitors can enjoy hearty dishes in the old style Alpine huts and then return to the valley below via cablecar.

Holiday time is the perfect time for taking care of yourself. Nordic Walking for example, is a great way to exercise. It combines three important factors: fitness, fun and nature. There are numerous paths in the forrests and meadows in the valleys of Merano and Environs. As well as this there are many other popular spots for Nordic Walking throughout the countryside, including the villages of Schenna and Naturno. Here, special Nature Fitness Parks can be found that feature well maintained and secure paths. As well as this, there are coaches happy to help visitors take their first steps or even perfect their technique.
